7 Easy & Delicious Camping Recipes to Try This Season


Camping season is officially here, and let’s be real... the best part of every trip? The FOOD. There’s just something about cooking under the stars that makes everything taste better.


We’ve been testing out a few easy camping recipes recently, and these six meals totally hit the spot: simple, flavorful, and made right at the campsite.


Here’s what we’ve been cooking lately, and what you might want to add to your next camp menu.

Grilled Sausage, Peppers, Onions, Maybe a bit of tomato sauce, bun or no bun?

Sausage and Peppers (Camp Stove)



Ingredients

  • 1 package of sausage (pork, turkey, or plant-based)

  • 2 bell peppers, sliced

  • 1 onion, sliced

  • Olive oil

  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Optional: Tomato sauce

  • Optional: Buns


InstructionsHeat olive oil in a skillet over your camp stove. Add sliced onions and peppers; sauté until lightly charred. Add sausage slices (or whole links) and cook until heated through and golden. Serve on buns or over rice for a hearty meal.

Campfire Nachos are the easiest ever, but SO good.

Campfire Nachos (Cast Iron Skillet)


Ingredients

  • Tortilla chips

  • 1 can black beans (drained)

  • 1 Packet of Pre-Cooked Chicken (this makes it super easy, but you could grill your own)

  • 1 cup shredded cheese (we shred our own cheddar)

  • ½ cup diced tomatoes

  • ¼ cup sliced jalapeños

  • ¼ cup corn

  • Sour cream and salsa for topping



Instructions: Layer chips, beans, cheese, tomatoes, jalapeños, and corn in a cast iron skillet. Place over low flame or hot coals, cover loosely with foil, and heat until cheese melts. Serve directly from the skillet with your favorite toppings.

Skillet Breakfast (Cast Iron Skillet)


Ingredients

  • 4 slices bacon or sausage

  • 4 eggs

  • 2 cups diced potatoes (or frozen hash browns)

  • ½ cup shredded cheese

  • Salt, pepper, and green onions to taste


Instructions Cook bacon or sausage in the skillet first, then set aside. In the same pan, sauté potatoes until crispy. Crack eggs directly into the skillet and cook sunny-side up or scrambled. Sprinkle with cheese and green onions for a complete breakfast.

Chicken Caesar Wraps (Camp Stove)



Ingredients

  • 2 chicken breasts

  • Olive oil, salt, and pepper

  • Caesar dressing

  • Romaine lettuce, chopped

  • Parmesan cheese

  • Hard Boiled Eggs

  • Sliced Onion

  • Sourdough Bread for Optional Croutons!

  • Flour tortillas



Instructions Grill chicken on the camp stove until fully cooked and slightly charred. Slice and toss with Caesar dressing, lettuce, and Parmesan. Wrap it all up in a tortilla for a fresh, filling lunch. Boil eggs and make your own dressing to make this extra yum!

Stuffed Sweet Potatoes (Direct Fire)


Ingredients

  • Sweet potatoes (one per person)

  • Butter or olive oil

  • Taco Seasoning

  • Optional toppings: black beans, corn, avocado, shredded cheese, slaw, pickled jalapeños, avocado / guacamole, green onion, sour cream, pico de gallo or salsa



Instructions: Wrap each sweet potato tightly in foil and place directly in the campfire coals for 20–30 minutes. Once soft, carefully unwrap, cut open, and add your favorite toppings for a smoky, sweet treat.

Steak and Veggies (Open Fire Grill)


Ingredients

  • Your favorite steak cut

  • Choice of Vegetable: Roasted Brussels, Broccoli, Green Beans...

  • Olive oil, salt, and your favorite seasoning blend



Instructions: Brush steak and veggies with olive oil and season generously. Grill over the fire, flipping occasionally until cooked to your desired doneness. Rest steak a few minutes before serving with charred veggies on the side.

Charcuterie Board (No Cooking Required)


Ingredients

  • Mixed cured meats

  • Assorted cheeses

  • Crackers or baguette slices

  • Fresh fruit, nuts, and honey or jam

  • Canned fish of choice


Instructions: Simply assemble on a cutting board or tray. Great for snacking around the campfire or as a no-fuss lunch while you’re setting up camp!
